UP & RUNNING

Raf Simons, former Artistic Director of Christian Dior, embraces an idea of the primal and the patterned to convey notions of the liberated and sensual, making a hyper-natural world for women. The Autumn/Winter 2015–2016 Ready-to-Wear collection moves from the garden of the "femme fleur" towards what could be seen as the terrain of the "femme animale."

This sequence portrays the jungle within the abstracted leopard print fabric of Christian Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2015-2016 signature boot. The sequence begins inside of a whimsical strange jungle with abstracted creatures made of string. As the camera pans, a zipper comes into view. Sunlight pours in and birds fly by from a distance, suggesting that there may be something more on the other side of the wall. The sequence ends by with a normal looking shoe placed on top of a cyc, suggesting that the entire strange jungle that was shown previously, was actually within the shoe itself.
