The SpaceX Expedition Identity System captures the essence of SpaceX’s existing reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the aerospace manufacturing industry and establishes a firmer connection with Elon Musks’ sister company, Tesla, by targeting a younger audience. The youth is our future.

The inspiration behind this logo is from the trail of light left behind after the rocket launches into space. The upper portion of the "X" symbolizes a rocket’s departure from earth into space, the lower portion symbolizes it’s return. The curvature of the mark represents smooth sailing and a safe landing.

Graphic and textural elements are taken from planetary topography and Spacex rockets and serves as a nod towards Elon Musk’s overarching goal of orbital space travel. The overall look and feel is bold with a strong sense of technical precision.
